Dr. Valles’s NSF-REU was renewed in collaboration with Texas A&M-San Antonio, “REU Site: Undergraduate Research Experiences in Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, and Mixed Reality for Smart and Connected Health“
Dr. Valles’s collaborative paper “Development of an Augmented Reality Handwashing Tool for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder” has been accepted to the 2024 IEEE Future Networks World Forum (FNWF) and will be presented in October in Dubai, UAE.
Dr. Valles’s co-authored collaborative paper “Development of an Augmented Reality Handwashing Tool for Children With Autism Spectrum Disorder” with Evan Smith was accepted to the 2024 IEEE CCWC.
Dr. Valles was invited to present a lightning talk on Machine Learning, IoT, Autonomous Driving, and AR to Respond to Fire Emergencies at the TXST Data Analytics Showcase.
Dr. Valles’ invited talk at the IEEE 8th World Forum Internet of Things will discuss “IoT and Technologies to Respond to Fire Emergencies” for the Vertical Topic: Computing and Processing.

Dr. Valles was awarded $344,029 from the NSF-REU program for the Undergraduate Research Experiences in Machine Learning, Analytics, and Augmented Reality for Smart and Connected Health.
