Kaavya Ramarapu has successfully defended her thesis titled “Environmental Emotion Recognition for Children with ASD“
Jamal Close and Alyssa Lopez will present their research poster at the 2025 TXST STEM Conference.
Jamal’s “Electrical Integration of Autonomous Agricultural Bot” is his work under the USDA’s AnimalCareBot Project
Alyssa’s “Developing Artificial Intelligence Models for Predicting Cattle Movement, Behavior, and Emotion,” and collaboration with Elysa Jimenez from the AnimalCareBot project, is her work from the USDA’s Leading Hispanics program.
Dr. Valles was invited to talk at the Department of Physics Colloquium, and will present on “Neural Operators for Physics-Informed AI in Ultrawide Bandgap (UWBG) Semiconductor Research.”

Dr. Valles’s NSF-REU was renewed in collaboration with Texas A&M-San Antonio, “REU Site: Undergraduate Research Experiences in Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, and Mixed Reality for Smart and Connected Health“
